A Thought Experiment

 People always ask me “where do you see yourself in 5/10 years” or “what plans do you have for the future.” Those questions are easy to answer for me, but never am I asked “what do you think you’ll look like in the future.” I suppose that question can be taken as rather shallow, but for a cartoonist, it’s something I’ve considered. So here’s Darren and I by next May, my hair is obviously even longer than it is now; and then when we’re 70. I would never actually wear a shirt like that, but I thought it would make me look older. The thing I didn’t show is Darren not aging until we turn 50, because he’s Asian. So he doesn’t really age as much as instantaneouly become old 30 years into the future. At least, that’s what I think.

So it’s gonna be finals for me until the 20th. Darren’ll be done soon, and he’s coming back to the Bay Area next week. So after we get the chance to hang out again, Thoughtpennies will once again take off! I’ve already set up the posts for the next two weeks, so you can at least see some of my old drawings (I might have taken some from my facebook album… so sorry to all of you that have already seen those) But now I’m off to study, have a fun couple of weeks, and I’ll see you when I get back!

I wish T.J. would tell me more things…

Okay, so this isn’t exactly a relationship of THAT sort, but honestly, sometimes I wish he would tell more what he plans to do with this comic because then I end up making a half-assed post like this. :P

That being said though, I will be back in the Bay Area as of next Sunday, so if there ARE any fans out there, I’d be more than happy to meet you in person.

So yes…getting old. Not exactly a prospect I exactly look forward to at the moment, but at the same time, I suppose it has it’s benefits: the senior specials at the local diner, senior discounts at the shop, people treating you with respect…sort of…being able to have white hair without bleaching it, possible grandkids, and seeing the world that you help build, and, most importantly, being able to not act your age, which I am an AVID fan of.

So here’s to aging gracefully! May we all be young at heart.
